Whitney Way Thore is an American public figure who serves as an activist, dancer, and internet celebrity. She is best known in the United States for her screen appearances on TLC’s reality series My Big Fat Fabulous Life.
Though she was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, Thore relocated to South Korea after graduating from college where she taught English to school children.
In 2014, Thore founded No Body Shame, a global movement to help people of every variety live their lives fully, passionately, and free of shame. For the movement, Thore also opened a website and blog where she connects with other fat acceptance activists.
After her return to the USA, Thore served as the on-air producer of the Greensboro, North Carolina, radio show Jared & Katie in the Morning on 107.5 KZL. As a result, she was featured on several media outlets among them ABC News, NBC’s Today Show, and The Huffington Post.
