Vivian Gonzalez Biography
Vivian Gonzalez is a Florida weather anchor for WSVN-TV from 5 am to 10 am. She became WSVN’s Morning Meteorologist in November 2012.
She attended the Monsignor Edward Pace High School. Gonzalez had a keen interest in the weather while growing up, She aspired to become a meteorologist one day by the age of seven. Vivian often imitated weather presenters on television, and often practices at the beach on summer vacations.
Gonzalez was unable to afford a degree directly relevant to her current line of work. She however enrolled with the Florida International University majoring in geography and minoring in mathematics and Spanish.
In her final year in University, she secured an internship with Telemundo 51. Gonzalez met Phil Ferro, who then moved to WSVN-TV one month before her internship ended.
After graduating in 2005, Gonzalez started working and finally enrolled in the Mississippi State University’s Distance Learning Broadcast Meteorology Program. She earned a certificate in meteorology and finally graduated with a Bachelor’s in Meteorology. She joined the WSVN team as a weather producer. Gonzalez’s background in geography proved extremely useful for the news team during the hurricane season.
Gonzalez is a proud member of both The National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society. She also enjoys being part of the community teaching children about math and science. Gonzalez supports causes such as La Liga Contra El Cancer and participates with the Community Partnership for the Homeless and Habitat for Humanity.

Gonzalez joined 7News in 2005 as a Weather Producer in the midst of the most active hurricane season on record. Thirty-one systems were spawned that year with Wilma and Katrina impacting South Florida directly. Her Geography background was extremely valuable in helping to track everything mother nature threw our way.
She was then promoted to Weather Anchor in 2007 for “Today In Florida” Saturday Edition. Her commitment and passion to keep her audience aware of South Florida’s fast-changing weather patterns make her a great team member.
