She is best known for a starring role as a housewife in the Bravo reality television series The Real Housewives of Orange County since its first season. She is also the founder of Coto Insurance.

Housewife Kelly Dodd announced in November 2018 that she would not return to “The Real Housewives of Orange County” for season 14 with Gunvalson after Gunvalson accused Dodd of using cocaine.
In December 2018, Radar Online reported that Dodd would be returning to the series. Bravo released promos that did not include Gunvalson as a cast member on July 3, 2019.
It was revealed on 5 July 2019 that Gunvalson had been demoted to “a friend of the wives” ahead of Real Housewives of Orange County’s forthcoming season. Vicki spent nearly 14 years as the heralded “OG of the OC,” and was also the longest running continuous Housewife of any franchise airing.
She spoke out through her Instagram after the decision was made public revealing: “For the past 14 years I’ve opened up my life, my loves, my ups and downs on The Real Housewives of Orange County and I am proud to be the ‘OG of the OC.
