He received initial recognition in August 2013, from the mixtape Conflicts of My Soul: The 416 Story. Through Interscope Records, he signed to record producer Benny Blanco’s Mad Love Records.
His debut studio album, I Told You (2016) includes singles like, “Say It” and “Luv”. These singles peaked at No. 23 and 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 respectively. A Career from 2009 to 2015
He made his debut mixtape T.L 2. T.P in 2009, while he lived in South Florida. He began directing some of his music videos and posting them on his YouTube channel. After Sean Kingston saw Lanez’s video of him freestyling over Lloyd Banks’ “Beaner, Benz, or Bentley”, he was interested. Kingston contacted Lanex in February 2010, telling him to meet up with him during Justin Bieber‘s tour and later got him to perform on their live.
In 2010, he released the mixtapes, Just Landed, One Verse One Hearse, Playing for Keeps, and Mr. 1 Verse Killah.
