Toni Rosall is a professional New Zealand-Australian wrestler best known by the ring name Toni Storm. Currently, she is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Previously, she worked for WWE, where she was a former NXT UK women’s Champion.


She first gained recognition in WWE from her 2017 and 2018 performances in the Mae Young Classic tournament. And progressed to the tournament’s semi-finals in 2017, and won it in 2018 at the WWE Evolution pay-per-view (WWE’s first all-women’s PPV) From 2018 to 2021, she performed on the NXT UK, NXT, and SmackDown brands before her release in December 2021. Beyond WWE, she has performed in the Japan-based World Wonder Ring Stardom (aka Stardom), where she was the first non-Japanese wrestler to hold its world title (the World of Stardom Championship).

Toni Storm Professional Wrestling Career

An Early Career

She began training at Impact Pro Wrestling’s Australian affiliate (not to be confused with the United States-based Impact Wrestling). And debuted for the company on October 9, 2009, under the ring name Storm, when she was 13 years old. After five years of honing her skills in Australia, she decided she wanted to become a better wrestler at the age of 18. Therefore, she convinced her mother to let her move to England, where she moved into her grandmother’s home in Liverpool. While in England, she trained under Dean Allmark. She then started working internationally in countries such as Finland, France, Germany, and Spain. Then she took part in a WWE tryout camp in Melbourne on the 2014 WWE Australian tour and the 2015 WWE UK tour.

A Career from 2015 to 2018

On April 14, 2015, she made her debut for Progress Wrestling being defeated by Elizabeth. She went on to become the first ever Progress Women’s Champion in May 2017, after defeating Jinny and Laura Di Matteo in a three-way match. Throughout the year, she went on to successfully defend the championship numerous times against challengers like Kay Lee Ray, Laura Di Matteo, and Candice LeRae. A Career from 2016 to 2018

In 2016, she began working for the Japanese promotions World Wonder Ring Stardom, where she won the SWA World Championship on July 24. Stardom officially announced on October 2, 2016, that Strom had signed with the promotion. On April 30, after winning the 2017 Cinderella Tournament, she also won the 2017 5★Star GP on 18 September, thus becoming the first wrestler to win the two tournaments in the same year. Next, she became the new World of Stardom Champion on September 24, in an unplanned finish, when Mayu Iwatani was legitimately injured during a title defense against her, prompting the referee to stop the match and award Storm the title. However, Kagetsu defeated Storm on June 9, 2018, thus ending her reign at 258 days.

A Career in WWE (2017 to 2021)

WWE announced Storm on June 16, 2017, as one of the first participants of the Mae Young Classic. On July 13, she entered the tournament defeating Ayesha Raymond in the first round. The following day, she defeated Lacey Evans in the second round and Piper Niven in the quarterfinals. But, she was eliminated in the semi-finals by Kairi Sane. On May 9, 2018, she was advertised for the upcoming United Kingdom Championship Tournament. Andon May 24, she signed a WWE contract.

At the United Kingdom Championship Tournament on June 18, she defeated Killer Kelly and Isla Dawn in a triple threat match to become the #1 contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. The following day, she was defeated at the NXT U.K. Championship by defending NXT Women’s Champion, Shayna Baszler. Months later, she participated in the second Mae Young Classic, a tournament she won when she defeated Io Shirai at WWE Evolution. She went on to participate in a tournament to crown the inaugural NXT UK Women’s Champion but lost against Rhea Ripley. On January 12, 2019, in a rematch at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool, Storm defeated Ripley to win the title.

Thus she reigned as champion until August 31, 2019, when she lost her title at NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff, to Kay Lee Ray, thus ending her reign at 230 days. On the TakeOver: WarGames post-show Q&A session with Triple H, on November 24, 2019, she was announced to be part of the NXT Women’s Survivor Series team by team captain, Rhea Ripley. At Survivor Series, she was eliminated via submission by Natalya and Sasha Banks. Next, she participated in the women’s Royal Rumble match at the namesake pay-per-view and entered # 20 but was eliminated by Shayna Baszler. On February 27, 2020, she wrestled her last match episode of NXT UK losing to Kay Lee Ray in an “I quit” match. On October 4, 2020, after an 8-months break, she returned to NXT at TakeOver 31, following the NXT Women’s Championship match between Io Shirai and Candice LeRae.

At Royal Rumble, she entered as #7 but was eliminated by Rhea Ripley. In an episode of NXT on March 10, 2021, she challenged Shirai for the title, but again she was unsuccessful.
