Who is Tia Ewing?
Tia Ewing is an American journalist serving as a morning reporter at Fox 32 Chicago. She is seen on-air Monday-Friday at 5 pm, 9 pm, and 11:30 pm for the show Later with Leon. FOX 32 (WFLD) is a Fox-owned-and-operated television station licensed to Chicago, Illinois, United States.
Ewing’s interest in broadcast journalism started right in the city where I was born and raised, “Chicago.” She began her career in Flint Michigan where she worked as an anchor and reporter at WNEM. There, she covered investigative stories surrounding an unethical city home building project, the vicious killing, and murder case of 4-year-old Dominick Calhoun, and also former Vice President Joe Biden.
She then moved to KTXL in Sacramento, California where she began as a reporter. Tia was then promoted to anchor and reporter. She then served as an evening anchor at KTXL FOX 40. During her time there, she became known in 2012 as the dancing anchor. Tia went viral for dancing during a commercial break.
She joined WOIO in Cleveland, Ohio in 2015 serving as a morning anchor. While there, she was nominated for a NATAS Lower Great Lakes Chapter Emmy for Team Coverage for the Republican National Convention in 2015. She covered the Cleveland Cavaliers Championship Parade and Cleveland Indians’ playoffs. She is also dedicated to mentoring and serving the community. One of the highlights of her career was taking the floor of Quicken Loans Arena during the Cleveland Cavaliers’ half-time show to present a speech honoring the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. And is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
