While in high school, she played high school basketball for McEachern High School. McEachern High School was undefeated in her freshman year, as they finished 33-0. In the games she played, she shot 65 percent from the field. In her high school career, she won three Georgia 6A State titles in 2012, 2014, and 2015. Moreover, she was the co-MVP of the 2015 McDonald’s All-American game.
A Professional Career
Cooper was selected by the Phoenix Mercury on April 17, 2020, as the 18th pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft. But because of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Phoenix Mercury was forced to cut some of its players from the team in May 2020, whereby Te’a Cooper was included. Therefore, the Los Angeles Sparks took an opportunity to transfer some of the Phoenix Mercury players to play on their roster.
This resulted in Cooper being selected as a point guard.
