Setmayer formerly worked for Coalition on Urban Renewal & Education (CURE) as a researcher and communications specialist. CURE is a non-profit organization that deals with the social policies impact on America’s inner cities and the poor. Tara also served GOPAC, as a political trainer. This is a conservative organization specializing in organizing, educating, and training grassroots Republicans who intend to run for public office.
Starting from 2006 to 2013, Tara worked as the Communications Director for Republican Representative Dana Rohrabacher of California, in the U.S. House of Representatives. During that period, she handled immigration and federal law enforcement policy issues. Tara led the national effort to free Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, Border Patrol Agents, through a presidential commutation.
Tara served as a community liaison, for over two years. She advocated for issues including affordable housing and services for the chronically homeless and children in South Florida.
