Who is Spencer Cox?

Spencer Cox (Spencer James Cox ) is an American lawyer and a politician. Currently, he serving as the 18th governor of Utah. He has been serving as the governor since 2021. Moreover, Cox is a member of the Democratic Party, prior to being elected as the governor he served as the Lieutenant governor of Utah for 8 years.

In 2004, he was elected to the municipal council. After that, he was elected to the mayorship the following year. Moreover, in 2012 Cox was elected to the Utah House of Representatives.

2016 Elections

Cox was appointed by governor Herbert to take over from Bell as a lieutenant governor after his resignation. On October 15, the Utah Senate’s Government Operations Confirmation Committee overwhelmingly supported his candidacy.
