Sopan Deb is an American journalist who works as a culture reporter for The New York Times.
Deb attended Howell High School in New Jersey. He graduated from Boston University with a degree in broadcast journalism in 2010. He was the Social Media Editor for Major Editor for Major League Basketball. His reporting career really took off when he joined the CBN News interactive in August 2014 as the associate producer for the Greater New York area.

Deb had his first job as a reporter for State House News Service in Massachusetts. He has worked at The Boston Globe, NBC News, and Al Jazeera over the years. Deb began working for CBS News where he covered the campaigns of Marco Rubio, Lindsey Graham, Donald Trump and Rand Paul in 2015. He was arrested by police and charged with resisting arrest while covering a March 2016 presidential campaign rally for Trump at the University of Illinois at Chicago (which Trump ultimately canceled in face of large protests).
The police dropped the charges after footage aired depicting the incident, showing Deb had not resisted arrest.
He began working as a cultural reporter for the New York Times in 2017. Deb interviewed the cast of Arrested Development; during the interview, actress Jessica Walter claimed that costar Jeffrey Tambor had verbally abused her during filming in 2018.
He has also worked as a stand-up comedian and appeared as a guest on The Special Without Brett Davis in 2018.
