Shepard Smith (David Shephard Smith) is an American journalist working for NBC News and CNBC News. In addition, at CNBC he serves as the general news anchor and host of The News with Shepard Smith, a daily evening newscast that was launched in late September 2020.

Moreover, he is well known for working at Fox News Channel for 23 years. While working at Fox News he was hosting several programs in including the Fox Report, Studio B, and Shepard Smith Reporting. In addition he is openly gay and after coming out in 2017 he received critiques from his supporters.  Smith left Fox News in October 2019.
