Scott Lively ( Scott Douglas Lively) is an American activist, lawyer, and author. He is also the president of Abiding Truth Ministries, a pro-natural law group located in Temecula, California.
Scott is also a co-founder of the Latvia-based group Watchmen on the Walls, state director of the California branch of the American Family Association. Moreover, Scott is the spokesperson of the Oregon Citizens Alliance. In 2014 and 2018, he vied unsuccessfully for the governor of Massachusetts.
Furthermore, Scott has been engaged in the ex-gay movement and has been vocal in her opposition to LGBT rights. During the 2014 elections, he was an independent candidate running for the seat of Governor of Massachusetts. However, he lost the seat but he didn’t give up and tried again in the 2018 election. On April 28th, 2018, at the Massachusetts Republican Party’s state convention, Scott was endorsed by almost the third of the delegates who were present.

Anti-abortion activism
He started campaigning against abortion in 1988, in Portland. The following year, he became a spokesman for the Oregon Citizens Alliance. At Oregon, he worked on the pro-life ballot measure for the 1990 United States midterm elections.
Anti-homosexuality activism in the United States
Scott alongside the Oregon Citizens Alliance shifted their attention from abortion to homosexuality in 1991. They were claiming the “rapid advance of that agenda in Oregon.”. In 1991, Scott assaulted Catherine Stauffer, after he threw her against a wall and dragged her across the floor of a Portland church, at an Oregon Citizens Alliance event she had been trying to record. Anti-homosexuality activism in Latvia and Russia
Scott partnered with Latvian preacher Alexey Ledyaev in 2006 to launch Watchmen the Walls, a worldwide anti-gay movement. The movement has been labeled a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
