His first portrayal in television writing was on the Fox Sports program Sports Genuises, a sports-themed game show starring Matt Vasgersian on which also he appeared nightly in a trivia challenge. After that, he then joined the writing staff of Comedy Central’s The Man Show, where he starred with Adam Carolla and his cousin Jimmy Kimmel. When co-host Nancy Pimental left Win Ben Stein’s Money show in 2002, Sal then replaced her thus becoming Ben Stein’s co-host and comic tormentor.
