Rocky Adkins Biography
Rocky Adkins (Rocky J. Adkins) is a Democratic member of the Kentucky House of Representatives. Adkins has represented the 99th District since 1987 and is also the Minority Floor Leader.

He is married to Leah McCormick Adkins with whom he has three children— Kristen (Husband, Josh Salyers), Branden (Wife, Emily), and Tori; and he has two grandchildren—Jaxon and Abram.
Rocky Adkins Basketball
Adkins attended Elliott County High School and Morehead State University where he played basketball. Rocky played for MSU in 1981 and 1982 as the starting point guard and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Morehead State University. His new dining commons was dedicated to and named after Rep. Adkins in 2017.
He was then inducted into the MSU Alumni Hall of Fame in 2004 and named the recipient of the 2012 Founders Award for University Service.

Rocky has been a strong supporter of education in Eastern Kentucky. He represents a district in eastern Kentucky that includes Elliott, Lewis, and Rowan Counties.

Adkins announced he was running for Governor of Kentucky in 2019 on November 14, 2018.

Stephanie Horne is a businesswoman and attorney who is Adkins’s running mate in the Kentucky Gubernatorial seat. Horne has her own business, Horne Title, and Escrow Services, LLC, which she founded in 2014.

Rocky Adkins Fundraising
Rocky is active in his hometown community of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, and communities in Kentucky and approved of and presented $730,000 dollars to help upgrade and maintain the sewage system for Sandy Hook.
Being a cancer survivor, Adkins sponsors the annual “Rocky Adkins Charity Golf Outing – Cure for Cancer” which has raised over $2 million for cancer research since its beginning in 1995.
