Who is Robin Roberts?

Robin Robert (Robin Rene Robert ) is an American news anchor, currently, working at ABC as an anchor of Good Morning America. She has also served as a sports anchor on ESPN for 15 years.

In 2005 she joined ABC as the co-anchor of om Good Moning America. In 2012 she was given a position in the Women’s Basketball Hal of Fame. 2012 she received a Peabody Award due to her treatment for a myelodysplastic syndrome which was chronicle to the program.

Career

Robin started her career as a reporter and sports anchor in 1983 at WDSSM_TV in Hattiesburg. After that, she moved to WLOX-Tv in Biloxi, Missippi in 1984. She then worked for WSMV-TV in Nashville, Tennessee, as a sports anchor and reporter in 1986. From 1988 to 1990, she worked as a sports anchor and correspondent for WAGA-TV in Atlanta, Georgia. And in Atlanta, she also worked as a radio host for V-103.

In 1990, she moved to ESPN to work as a sportscaster, Robin worked for the station for 15 years where she left in 2005. She started working for ABC as a guest reporter for Good Morning America in June 1995. She received the Mel Greenberg Media Award in 2001 which was presented by the WBCA.

Robin was working for ESPN and at the same time contributing to Good Morning America. In 2005 she was given a promotion to being a co-anchor of Good Morning America.

After 4 years she was joined by George Stephanopoulos as the new co-anchor after Diane Sawyer left to anchor ABC World News. Their chemistry led the Good Morning America show to the top in terms of ratings. In April 2012 it became the number one morning show defeating NBC’s Today which had been the No.1 show for sixteen years.

She was one of the three only  Lady Lion to score 1,000 career points and grab 1,000 career rebounds.
