Robin Meade is a former American television news correspondent. She was the lead news anchor for HLN’s morning show Morning Express with Robin Meade. She is also a singer and a former Miss Ohio. In 2001, she joined HLN. And in 2011 and 2013, she released country music albums. Moreover, she won a regional Emmy Award.
Robin Meade Career
Robin began her journalism career working with local stations in the same state, Ohio. She started as a reporter at WMFD-TV in Mansfield, Ohio. She then worked as an anchor and reporter at WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio, and also at WJW-TV in Cleveland. Meade secured a job later in Miami, Florida as the morning news anchor of WSVN-TV’s Today in Florida. She also then worked as the station’s noon anchor and health reporter.
Meade moved on to work at NBC Chicago affiliate WMAQ-TV. She began anchoring the morning newscasts and followed co-anchoring the weekend newscasts. Robin has also served as a general assignment correspondent for the station. During her term with the NBC affiliate, she covered the 1996 Olympics which included special reporting on the Centennial Olympic Park bombing.

Meade joined HLN (then CNN Headline News) on September 11, 2011, serving from CNN’s world headquarters in Atlanta. Robin did the network’s coverage of Operation Enduring Freedom and also that from Operation Iraqi Freedom in the spring of 2003.

In 2005, Meade began hosting ‘Morning Express With Robin Meade’ on HLN. This is a morning television show program that airs weekday live from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Eastern time. Her co-hosts are meteorologist Bob Van Dillen, money correspondent Jennifer Westhoven, and Mike Galanos. The show began broadcasting on CNN Philippines every Monday to Friday and, as Weekend Express, every Saturday and Sunday during the overnight hours as of August 2016. Robin has won a regional Emmy Award. She released a country music album in 2011 and also the second one in 2013.
On December 1, 2022, she and the entire HLN Atlanta team were laid off as part of CNN President Chris Licht‘s restructuring of the network. Her timeslot was replaced with a simulcast of CNN This Morning.
