However his request was turndown due to the British version of Judge Judy, but producer Tom McLennan offered him a chance to present it. From 2014 he has been the eponymous judge in the reality courtroom series Judge Rinder, where he has been nicknamed the British Judge Judy.

After his program kicked off he criticized Judith Sheindlin who was the Judge of Judge Judy, for making judgments based on her preconceptions and made ” real legal rulings”. Moreover, despite this, he requested that his status as a practicing criminal law barrister rather than a civil court judge be explained on the show.

As a result, he dresses in his regular barrister’s court attire but without the wig. After that, he received critical acclaims for his cross-examination capabilities and acerbic comments. Furthermore, his courtroom includes a gavel and a flag of the UK, neither of which are used in the British Court, however, they are on display in American courts and televised court programs. However, his show has received criticism from The Jeremy Kyle Show set in a small-claim court.
