Who is Rick Aaron?
Rick Aaron is an American sports anchor from Mississippi. Aaron has close to three decades of experience in television news as an anchor, reporter, and producer.
Rick attended the University of California, Los Angeles where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies. After graduating he began working at KTTV Fox 11 in Los Angeles.
He spent 13 years at KTTV as a sports producer. There, he won five Emmy Awards, two Golden Mic Awards, and an Associated Press Award for his work on “Fox 11 News at Ten”, “Fox 11 Overtime” and “Fox 11 Extra Innings”.
He was a recipient of two Associated Press Awards for Best Sportscast and won an L.A. Press Club, Golden Mike, for Best Sports Reporting. He also took third place in the Society of Professional Journalists Sports Reporting category in 2004 and was given an Honorable Mention for Best Sports Show in 2005.
He won multiple UBEE Awards from the Utah Broadcasters Association and was named the 2010 Utah Sportscaster of the Year by the National Association of Sportswriters and Sportscasters.
He began his on-air career as a Sports Anchor/Reporter at KNDU NBC 25 in Tri-Cities, Washington in 2003. He was then promoted in 2004 to Sports Director at KNDO NBC 23 in Yakima, Washington. After being in Yakima for less than a year, he was hired by a station in Salt Lake City where he served as Sports Director for seven and a half years.
Aaron has interests in community service and has worked with the American Red Cross and Intermountain Donor Center on various projects through Fox 13.
