Ricardo made his professional MMA debut in 2012. He fought exclusively in his native Brazil and earned a record of 6 victories and no losses for the first two years of his career. Ramos then made his North American debut in 2015, fighting three times for Legacy FC prior to its rebranding to Legacy Fighting Alliance. Prior to joining the UFC, he had a record of 9 wins and 1 loss, with all except one of his victories coming through stoppage prior to the final bell. Ricardo then fought Lerone Murphy at UFC on ESPN: Kattar vs. Ige on July 16, 2020. He, however, lost the bout through technical knockout in round one. On March 13, 2021, he was scheduled to fight Zubaira Tukhugov at UFC Fight Night 187. One week prior to the event, Zubaira pulled out because of undisclosed reasons and promotion officials voted to remove Ramos from the event. On October 30, 2021, the fight with Tukhugov was rescheduled and took place at UFC 267. Ramos lost the fight by unanimous decision. He then faced Danny Chavez at UFC on ESPN: Kattar vs. Emmett on June 18, 2022. Ramos won the fight, knocking out Chavez with a spinning back elbow in the first round.
