Who is Ranvir Singh?

Ranvir Singh is a British television journalist and presenter. Ranvir is also a Political Editor and newsreader, she is also the deputy presenter for Good Morning Britain.

Ranvir’s Career

Singh began her career in 2002 at BBC Radio Lancashire, she joined on work experience before she was given a 6-month contract. After that, she moved to BBC GMR, where she covered the 2002  Commonwealth Games in Manchester. In 2005 she joined the BBC North West regional news program which was called North West Tonight, where she was a bulletin presenter and a journalist.

Singh presented her first national role Good Friday in 2006. Where she co-presented Manchester Passion, a live BBC Three play that retold the last hour of Jesus Christ. She then joined presenter Gordon Burn as the main co-presenter on BBC North West Tonight. The former BBC South editor Roger Johnson become her co-presenter in October 2011 after Burn’s left. While she was working on North West Tonight, she was also a regular presenter for late-night and weekend breakfast shows on BBC Radio 5 Live.

On May,18th,2012, Ranvir went for a maternity leave from North West Tonight. However, it was later announced that she would not be returning to the BBC. She joined the ITV Breakfast program Daybreak and she made her first Daybreak appearance on 3rd September 2012. Singh occasionally reviewed the newspaper on This Morning in 2012.

She later joined Good Morning Britain as a feature correspondent and news presenter with Susanna Reid, Ben Shephard, Charlotte Hawkins, and Sean Fletcher in 2014. From 2014 she has been a relief newscaster on various ITV News bulletins. Ranvir joined the Factual ITV program Tonight as a reporter on 25th, September 2014.

From much 2015, Ranvir guest presented numerous Exposure specials. Then from 2015-2016, she presented two primetime series for ITV which was known as Real Stories with Ranvir Singh. After that she co-presented The Martin Lewis Money Show alongside Martin Lewis, however, she was later replaced by Angellica Bell in 2016 and 2017.

In January 2017, it was announced that Singh had been promoted to Good Morning Britain as a Political Editor. She also presented Eat, Shop, Save for ITV in 2017 summer. Ranvir was presenting Good Morning Britain the day of the 2017 Westminster attack. Ranvir garnered much praise for her ability to respond and react quickly to the developing story. The Good Morning Britain team won a prestigious Golden Nymph Award in the Live Breaking New category at the 59th Monte-Carlo Television Festival in 2009, they won against  CNN and Al Jazeera.

Ranvir features at Good Morning Britain also include traveling around the world onboard the RAF Voyager with the Prime Minister. Her visits included Canada, China, and also inside the White House with President Trump, and live reporting from the ground as the Grenfell Tower fire unfolded. It was later announced that Ranvir would be taking part in the eighteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing on 2nd, September 2020.

She partnered with Giovanni Pernice in the competition. They reached the Semi-Final, however, they were eliminated and they became the seventh couple to be eliminated. Ranvir co- presented ten episodes of ITV”s All-Around Britain. It was a new weekly topical magazine series, with fellow Good Morning Britain presenter Alex Beresford. She was later replaced with Lorraine entertainment presenter Ria Hebden. It was announced that Ranvir would be presenting Lorraine on 16th, December 2020. Where she would present on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd December.

Ranvir was awarded the ” Best On-Screen Talent” at the Royal Television Society’s North West Award in November 2010. She then received the Alumni Award from the Lancaster University On 13th, August 2014. After that, she won the Media Personality of the Year at the Asian Media Award in October 2015
