Rae Burrell (full name: Rae Marie Burrell) is an American basketball player playing for Tennessee Volunteers women’s basketball. Burrell attended Liberty High School and she volunteered with Special Olympics while in high school.

Burrell was ranked No. 43 overall and No. 8 wing in the 2018 HoopGurlz espnW Top 100. She was ranked No. 119 overall and the No. 19 wing in the 2018 Prospectsnation.com Elite 150. She is a McDonald’s All-American Game nominee (2018). Burrell played at Liberty High School as a senior after attending Foothill her first three years.

As a junior, she averaged 17.5 ppg., 7.5 rpg., 1.9 apg. and 1.3 bpg. As a senior, she averaged 14.9 ppg., 7.9 rpg., 2.5 spg., 2.5 apg. and 1.0 bpg. She also played a key role as LHS won the Sunrise Region and finished second in the 2018 state tournament with a 31-3 record. She helped Franklin High School win the Sunrise Region and make it to the 2017 state semifinals.

Burrell also competed in soccer and track & field in high school, posting the best high jump mark in the state as a senior at 5-6. In 2018, she had an honorable mention all-state in track & field.

Burrell saw action in every game as a freshman, averaging 3.6 points and 12.7 minutes of duty. She scored n 21 of 32 outings, hitting double figures on five occasions. Burrell had nine games where she pulled down five or more rebounds.

She reached double figures in points during the first three games of her college career. She opened the season by scoring 14 points and pulling down five rebounds vs. Presbyterian. Burrell scored 10 points and pulled down eight boards the next game vs. UNC Asheville.

Burell matched her season-high in points vs. Florida A&M in game three, tallying 14. She also knocked down a season-best three treys vs. FAMU and grabbed six boards in that game as well. She posted SEC highs of 12 points, seven rebounds and 32 minutes played against Alabama. She had her best shooting game of the year vs. Murray State, hitting five of seven attempts from the field. It included her only try from the three-point arc, en route to 11 points and also added six rebounds.

She tallied seven points, four rebounds, and a steal in 20 minutes against South Carolina. She has played 21 minutes against ETSU, recording six rebounds, five points, and a blocked shot.
