Quenton Emerson Nelson is a famous American football guard for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). Nelson played college football at Notre Dame, where he became a unanimous All-American, and was picked by the Colts 6th overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. Nelson once again appeared in and began all 16 games for the team for the third consecutive year in the 2020 season. He played 1,082 snaps, just allowed 1 sack, and committed 9 penalties. He was also named a first-team All-Pro and received his third Pro Bowl nomination for the third straight year.
2021 season
The Colts exercised the fifth-year option on his deal on April 28, 2021, which guarantees a salary of $13.754 million for the 2022 season. It was then revealed on August 3, that he needed surgery on his left foot, a similar injury that Carson Wentz had suffered a week before. His recovery duration was projected to be 5-12 weeks, however, the doctors deemed that the injury was not as serious. Nelson later suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 3 and on October 2, 2021, he was placed on injured reserve. He was then activated on October 23.
