Who Is Pedro Pierluisi?
Pedro Pierluisi is a politician, attorney, and lobbyist from Puerto Rico. Currently, he is serving as the 14th governor of Puerto Rico, he has been serving in that position since 2021.
In addition, prior to being governor, he held the positions of Secretary of Justice from 1993 to 1997. Moreover, he has also been a Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico in the United States House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017.

Early career
He began his career as a lawyer, where he was practicing as a private attorney in Washington DC. He served as an attorney for a period of six years from 1984 to 1990. 2020 gubernatorial election
Pedro defeated governor Wanda Vázquez Garced in the PNP gubernatorial primary on August 16, 2020. Moreover, he went ahead and won the nomination for the New Progressive Party with about 57.9% of the votes cast, compared to Vazquez’s 42.1%, with 75.6% of voting stations reporting.
