Mike’s passion for football made him ride his bike daily to see the Denver Bronco training at the University of Northern Colorado. His relationship with the Broncos staff members developed. This resulted in an internship with the Broncos under head coach Mike Shanahan in 2005.
In 2006 Gary Kubiak left the Broncos and became the head coach of the Houston Texans. He took Mike with him where He was hired by the Houston Texans as an offensive assistant. Kubak also hired Kyle Shanahan to his first staff as a wide receiver cosh.McDaniel became Shanahan’s assistant. They both worked at stops in Washington, Cleveland, and Atlanta.
