He followed his father’s footsteps in a medical career. Thus after graduating from college, he did his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Colorado Hospital in his hometown of Denver. Later he relocated to the Los Angeles area.

Besides being a professional physician, he has been doing stand-up comedy with a routine based partly on his experiences as a doctor. Therefore, he has worked with the improvisational comedy troupe The Groundlings, and in 2002, he became a full-time professional comedian.
