Toledo
Matt sp ent the first nine years of coaching at his alma mater, the University of Toledo. He worked as a student assistant coach under Gary Pinkel in 1992, and later in 1993 as a graduate assistant. This was before he became a full-time recruiting coordinator/outside linebackers coach in 1994 after defensive coordinator Dean Pees departed for Norte Dame.
