Margaret Doud ( Margaret M. Duod ) is the mayor of Mackinac Island in Michigan. She has served as the mayor of Mackinac Island since April 1, 1975, making her the second-longest-serving mayor in the United States.
Career
As a result of her good work and service, she was given special recognition on May 22, 2005. The recognition included a certificate of recognition by Senator Debbie Stabenow, a senior United States Senator from Michigan. Also a tribute by the State of Michigan and then-Governor Jennifer Granholm, a political commentator and the 16th United States Secretary of Energy and a member of the Democratic Party.
