Who is Louie Anderson?

Louie Anderson(Louie Perry Anderson ) is an American stand-up comedian, game show host, author, and actor. He is the founder of the Cartoon series life with Louie. He has also written a couple of books s including  Hey mom: stories for my mother,  but you can read them too which was published in 2018, The F Word: How to survive your family which was published in 2002, Goodbye Jumbo…Hello, Cruel World which was published in 1993 and one of his best-selling books. Louie Anderson has been named as one of the 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedian of All Time by Comedy Central. He is also an Emmy Award winner three times his recent Emmy Award was won for his co-starring role on Zach Galifianakis’s Baskets.

Career

Early

November 20, 1984,  was the year he started his career as a Stand -Up Comedian on The Tonight Show which was hosted by John Carson.

In 1985, Louie Anderson became a cast at Lou Appleton where he worked with Bronson Pinchot on the pilot episode of Perfect Strangers for ABC. Later Anderson was replaced by Mark Linn-Baker in the role of Appleton and its name was then changed from Lou to Larry since the producers didn’t think the chemistry between Anderson and Pinchot was quite right.

In 1986, he got a small role in the singing- telegram scene in Ferries Bueller’s Day off, and in 1987 he appeared in a comedy special on Showtime. In 1988 he played a role in John Landis’ film which was called Coming to America where Eddie Murphy  and Arsenio Hall were starred

In 1989, Anderson starred as a guest on the first episode of the MuppeTelevision segment of the Jim Henson Hour .1995 was when Anderson produced a Saturday morning animated series for Fox which was called Life with Louie. The series focused more on his childhood where it detailed more on how he was picked on for his weight and how he used comedy to deal with the teasing.

For 3 years the show was a hit on Fox and it managed to win two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program. 1996 he starred in and created The Louie Show for CBC and the show aired for six episodes and it was later canceled. In 1999 Anderson got a role as host of the new version of Family feud where he organized a 9/11 themed tournament week of Family Feud between FDNY and the NYPD but in 2002 he left the show and was replaced by Richard Karn

In 2006 Anderson played in the World Series Poker Main Event in Las Vegas. 2012 was when he filmed a stand-up special which was entitled Louie Anderson: Big Baby Boomer where he poked fun at his bad habit and aging body. In 2013 he appeared in the Splash series of ABC Television this was after practicing several dives into a swimming pool .In October 2014, Anderson signed on as the promotional spokesman for his state’s Land O’Lakes Sweet Cream butter brand and since then he has been appearing on Web Ads and television commercials while promoting the product.
