Lonnie Walker IV is a well-known American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Walker previously played high school basketball for Reading High School in Pennsylvania. He then signed a letter of commitment to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Miami. High school career

College career

On November 10, 2017, Walker made his collegiate debut. He recorded 10 points and a season-high 5 assists coming off the bench in a 77-15 blowout victory against Gardner-Webb University. Lonnie created new highs of 12 points and 5 rebounds in an 80-52 blowout victory over Princeton University on December 2. Three days later, he recorded season-highs of 26 points and 7 rebounds in his first collegiate start in a 69-54 victory against Boston University.

Walker then scored a game-high 25 points including an acrobatic layup in traffic to force overtime against Louisville. He hit a 3-pointer with two seconds remaining to win 79-78 in a game against Boston College. Walker later completed the season averaging 11.5 points per game and was also named to the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) All-freshman team. Following his sole season with Miami ending, he declared for the 2018 NBA draft.

San Antonio Spurs (2018-2022)

Lonnie was picked by the San Antonio Spurs with the 18th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft on June 21, 2018. He later was included in the 2018 NBA Summer League roster of the Spurs. The Spurs then announced on July 11, 2018, that they had signed Walker. He was revealed to have a right medial meniscus tear on October 6, 2018. The San Antonio Spurs assigned him for the first time of the season to the Austin Spurs on November 25, 2018.
