A High School Career
As a freshman at Reading Senior High School, he made his varsity basketball debut and played 27 games averaging 8 points per game. Later as a sophomore, he averaged 16.9 points per game in the short season due to injury. In 29 games as a junior, he averaged 17.1 points per game. And during his senior year, he averaged a career-best 18.4 points per game and surpassed Reading High grad and former NBA player Donyell Marshall’s school record in pints by finishing with 1,828. He went on and lead the Red Knight t their first state championship on March 25, 2017, in the program’s 117-year history in a 64-60 win over the Pine-Richland Rams. Overall, he finished the game with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. During the season, he signed with the Miami Hurricane passing on offers from Villanova, Kentucky, Syracuse, and Arizona.

A Career with the San Antonio Spurs (2018 to 2022)
He was selected with the 18th overall pick by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2018 NBA draft on June 1, 2018. Later, he was included in the 2018 Summer League roster of the Spurs.
