Larry Joe Doherty is a Texas legal ethics attorney, judge, and a former television show host. He previously served as the star of the syndicated courtroom show Texas Justice. Joe was also the Democratic candidate for the 10th Congressional District of Texas in 2008. He lost to his incumbent Republican Michael McCaul.
Doherty is a member of the Houston Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas. He serves as a senior partner in the Houston law firm Doherty, Long & Wagner specializing in legal malpractice cases. Doherty made a name for himself as the lawyer who sued other lawyers being a pioneer in the field of legal malpractice.
He has built a highly successful practice holding other attorneys accountable for misrepresenting their clients. Larry is also a former president of the Washington County Wildlife Society and a former board member of the Texas Wildlife Association. He is also a past member of the Texas Quail Council.
