Who is Kim Reynolds?
Kim Reynolds ( Kimberly Kay Reynolds) is an American politician, currently serving as the 43rd Governor of Iowa since 2017. In addition, she is also a member of the Republican Party. Prior to becoming the governor, she served as the 46th Lieutenant Governor of Lowa for a person of 6 years from 2011 to 2017.
Furthermore, prior to becoming the Lieutenant Governor, Kim was working in the Iowa Senate, where she worked for a period of one year starting 2009 to 2010. Kim became the Governor in May 2017, after Terry Brandstad, resigned from the position in order to become a US Ambassador to China. As a Clarke County Treasurer, she served for four terms. In January 2019, an Iowa state judge deemed the statute unlawful and overturned it. Reynolds has requested that the bill be amended to state that it does not protect abortion rights.
