A Career from 2008 to 2013

Following in the path of Anna Kournikova, in 2008 Katie showed promise when she won the Lemon Bowl in Rome aged 11. In 2011, aged 41, she went on to become a finalist in the Junior Orange Bowl Tennis Championships in Coral Gables, Florida. Past finals have included Andy Murray and Caroline Wozniacki. That month, she was awarded the Aegon Junior Player Award. In November 2013, she claimed her first senior doubles title at a $10k event in Sharm El Sheikh.

A Career in 2014

During this time in January, she went on to have further doubles success and was a finalist at the Australian Open girl’s doubles event with Ivana Jovic. In Sharm El Sheikh in May 2014, she won her first senior singles title over fellow Briton Eden Silva. At the same time, she won the doubles title partnering with Nina Stojanovic to whom she had lost a previous final in singles. After a month, she was given a Wildcard for Wimbledon qualifying but lost in the first round to Italian Alberta Brianti in a three-set match that lasted two-and-a-half hours.

This became her most successful tennis year as she won her first $25k singles title at the event in Obidos, Portugal in April. The next month, she won a further singles title at the $60k event in Fukuoka, Japan. Despite falling in the first round of qualifying for the French Open, she carried her good form into the grass-court season where she received a wildcard for the Nottingham Open and reached her first WTA quarterfinal there. She went on to receive a wildcard to the $100k grass-court event in July 2018 in Southsea, England where she fell in the finals to Kristen Flipkens.
