Who is Julie Chang?

Julie Chang (full name: Julie Ju-young Chang) is a South-Korean born American television anchor. She serves as an entertainment anchor for Good Day L.A. on KTTV in Los Angeles. She also serves as the entertainment anchor for Fox 11 Morning News.

Prior to joining KTTV, Chang served as the entertainment anchor for the 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. news on FOX 5 WNYW. In June 2008, she joined the morning show Good Day New York. However, she changed over to the evening newscasts in October 2011. She previously served as a feature reporter for the CW11 Morning News, WPIX.

Before her television career, Chang pursued a career in banking. She later found her calling after spending a semester at sea. Chang sailed the world in countries such as Brazil, South Africa, Kenya, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, among others. Through sailing, she gave birth to her passion.

Chang joined Good Day LA in October 2012. On December 10, 2018, the show was expanded to five 1/2 hours, incorporating the morning news program that began at 4:30 a.m. into the show. The 4:30 a.m.-7:30 a.m. part of the show was anchored by Araksya Karapetyan and Tony McEwing. The 7:30 a.m.-10 a.m. was hosted by Elex Michaelson, Megan Colarossi, Rita Garcia, Vanessa Borge, weather anchor Maria Quiban, entertainment reporter Chang and the traffic reporters Rick Dickert and Soumada Khan.

In November 2013, it was announced that Chang was taking medical leave to treat a brain tumor. She returned to the show on January 22, 2014.

The show later changed its lineup on March 4, 2019. The 4:30-6:00 am part is hosted by Dan Cohen and Rita Garcia. The 6:00-9:00 am is hosted by Araksya Karapetyan and Tony McEwing. The 9:00-10:00 am is hosted by Megan Colarossi and Vanessa Borge. The show was expanded to six hours on April 1, 2019.

To her surprise, Leif proposed on the same day she had planned for the break-up.
