Juan Williams is a Panamanian-born American journalist who serves as co-host of FOX News Channel’s (FNC) The Five (weekdays 5-6PM/ET). He as well appears as a political analyst on FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace and Special Report with Bret Baier. Wiliams has had more than a 10-year career with NPR serving as a senior national correspondent and news analyst. He also had a career at The Washington Post for 23 years.
At The Washington Post, Williams covered every major political campaign from 1980 to 2000 as a national correspondent and a political columnist. In his tenure, he also interviewed numerous influential people and presidents.
In 2000, he joined NPR, serving as a host of the daily afternoon talk show Talk of the Nation. Later, he served as a senior national correspondent for National Public Radio.
After Williams made a comment on The O’Reilly Factor in 2009, NPR’s President and CEO Vivian Schiller requested Fox News stop identifying him as an NPR host. His contract was later terminated by NPR on Wednesday, October 20, 2010. This was two days after he had also made remarks on The O’Reilly Factor.
