Josip Juranovic Career
Club career
Juranovic went through the ranks of the third-tier Dubrava, except for a two-month duration at the nearby NK Croatia Sesvete academy. He made his third-level senior debut in the 2012-13 season. Josip first drew attention to himself by winning the Croatian leg of the Nike Chance competition for amateur players in early 2014, gaining the right to vie for a spot in the Nike Academy team. He did not make the five-person cut and went back to his club. Juranovic’s club performances remained strong, and touted by some media as the best player of the autumn leg of the 2014-15 Treca HNL Zapad, he drew the attention of HNK Hajduk Split.
Following signing a three-and-a-half-year deal with Hajduk Split in early 2015, Juranovic joined their third-tier B team. However, he was moved to the first team by the new manager Goran Vucevic in April 2015 and made his Prva HNL debut in a 2-1 home defeat by Rijeka. He was then picked in the Prva HNL team of the season for his performances during the 2017-18 season in June 2018.
Legia Warsaw
Juranovic played for Legia Warsaw after signing with them for the 2018-19 season. He played for the club until the 2020-21 season and then transferred to the Scottish Premiership side Celtic.

Josip made his international debut in the third-place playoff of the 2017 China Cup over China’s national football team on January 14, 2017. Croatia then lost 5-4 on penalties following a goalless draw. Juranovic was picked in Croatia’s 26-man team for the UEFA Euro 2020 on May 17, 2021. He then played 2 games for the team in the tournament, a 3-1 victory over Scotland in the group stage and a 5-3 loss to Spain in the Round of 16. Josip was later picked in Croatia’s 26-man group on November 9, 2022, for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Croatia was eliminated in the semi-final against Argentina.
