Who is Josh Shapiro?

Joshua David Shapiro abbreviated as Josh Shapiro is an eminent American politician and attorney who has served as the Pennsylvania Attorney General since 2017. Being a member of the Democratic Party, he is the governor-elect of Pennsylvania. In 2004, he was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives defeating former Republican U.S. Congressman Jon D. Fox. From 2005 to 2012, he represented the 153rd district. In 2011, he was elected to the Montogomery County Board of Commissioners thus making the first time Republicans lost control of Montogomery County.

A Career at Capitol Hill

After graduating from Rochester, he went on and moved to Washington, D.C. There, he started as a legislative assistant to Senator Carl Levin, then served as a senior adviser to Representative Peter Deutsch, and then a senior advisor to Senator Robert Torricelli. He then worked as Chief of Staff to Representative Joe Hoeffel from 1999 to 2003, who represented parts of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
