Josh Appel Biography
Josh Appel is an American NFL and NCAA play-by-play voice for Sports USA Media.
Appel attended the University of South Florida and was the winner of the 2016 Jim Nantz Award. The award is given to the nation’s most outstanding collegiate sports broadcaster, as voted on by leading members of the sportscasting industry.

He served three years as the Sports Director and student radio play-by-play voice of University of South Florida football, basketball, and baseball on Bulls Radio. Appel also worked as a play-by-play announcer, in-game host, and analyst for USF Athletics.
Appel originally got involved in broadcasting while at Cypress Bay High School in Fort Lauderdale, calling PBP for football and PA for basketball. He also held a year and a half internship on the ‘Dan LeBatard Show’’ on 790 The Ticket in Miami before attending USF.
