2017-18 season
Collins was picked with the 19th overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks on June 22, 2017. He then signed a rookie-scaled contract with the team. Collins received All-Summer League First Team honors because of his performance with the Hawks during the 2017 NBA Summer League. He got averages of 15.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game in 23.1 minutes of action in the five games he played there. He then saw action in all five preseason games for the team, coming off the bench with per-game averages of 7.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in 19.2 minutes.
