Jerry Sheindlin (full name: Gerald Sheindlin) is an American author and television personality, jurist, and attorney. He is famously known for being Judge Judy’s husband. He has served on the New York State Supreme Court.
Jerry grew up as a street boy from the Bronx. Sheindlin joined the Navy in 1951 during the Korean War. Jerry is also known as an actor in Erroneous Convictions (2012), Entertainment Tonight (1981), and The People’s Court (1997).
Sheindlin has been a judge handling high-profile cases. His most notable case was when he heard and acquitted the Officer Francis Livoti case. It involved police misconduct following the death of Anthony Baez whilst serving as a trial judge under the New York Supreme Court.
