A High School Career
In his junior season at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, he averaged 21.8 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. As a senior, he averaged 25 points and 10 rebounds per game. He left high school as the all-time leading scorer with 2,005 points. As a consensus four-star recruit, he committed to play college basketball for Texas, choosing the Longhorns over Minnesota.
A College Career
As a freshman at Texans, he averaged 5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. Late in the season, he assumed a more important role following an injury to Mohamed Bamba. As a sophomore, he averaged 4.2 points and 3.6 rebounds per game while missing time with an ankle injury. His junior season was cut short by a stress fracture in his back against Baylor on February 10, 2020.
