Jen Schefft is an American author well known in the US as the glamorous girl who turned down not one but two opportunities to get hitched to the seemingly ‘perfect’ man live on TV (The Bachelor and The Bachelorette) and caused massive controversy.
Scheft has appeared on countless TV shows including Oprah, Good Morning America, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She has also graced the covers and pages of People magazine and many other publications.

The Bachelorette reunion was held on 6th May 2019, celebrating 15 years of The Bachelorette. It was The Biggest Bachelorette Reunion in Bachelor History Ever! ahead of the Season 15 premiere. Unfortunately only 12 out of 14 were present, missing two of whom were season 2’s Meredith Phillips and season 3’s Jen Schefft.
Chris Harrison told entertainment tonight, “Unfortunately Jen and Meredith couldn’t be there because we had to settle on a date. At the end of the day, we had to shoot this thing.”
“So, we just picked a day where we could get as many as we possibly could, but unfortunately schedules, vacations, was one of them, just couldn’t be changed. And we just had to pull the trigger and do this thing.”

She was selected and proposed to by Andrew Firestone in the third season of The Bachelor. For her season, she had the opportunity to assist in helping to cast the 25 bachelors from which she will choose.

She selected Jerry who then did propose in the finale, but she then asked him to hold on to the ring and consider proposing later. ABC aired the first life After The Final Rose episode, after the finale but Jen turned him down, as their relationship had already ended since the finale had been filmed. She stated about her season in a 2013 interview with People, “The show didn’t turn out the way I hoped, but everything worked out for the best.”

Schefft finally married Chicago public relations executive Joe Waterman in May 2009. The couple has two daughters. She gave birth to her first child at age 34, a daughter Mae Elizabeth Waterman was born on November 13, 2010. Her second child, a daughter too, Charlotte Grace Waterman was born on July 31, 2012.

Waterman had proposed in September 2008. One month after they got engaged, Schefft was laid off from her sales job and she was determined to have a low-cost — but high-style — wedding.
