As a senior at Episcopal High School, he played in the U.S. Army All-American Game. After high school, he committed to the University of Alabama to play college football. On National Signing Day, he made the selection of 2018 and chose the Crimson Tide over Texas, Texas A&M, Florida State, TCU, and Oregon.
