Who is Hal Eisner?
Hal Eisner is an award-winning Los Angeles journalist for KTTV-TV (Los Angeles, CA). He is a FOX 11 News Reporter and the host of FOX 11 News IN DEPTH.
Eisner has covered some of the biggest stories in the United States. He has scored an impressive number of journalism awards over the years including Emmy’s, Golden Mikes, awards from The L.A. Press Club, and The Associated Press.
Eisner has been honored with the Mark Twain Award for Reporter of the Year. In 2013, he was honored with an Associated Press Lifetime Achievement Award for his journalistic work.
Eisner has covered all kinds of local and national stories including the shootings at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Columbine High School, the Chatsworth Metrolink crash, President Reagan’s death and funeral, the Northridge earthquake, the L.A. riots, and the highly publicized trials of O.J.Simpson, Robert Blake, and Michael Jackson to name a few. He is also on the National Board of SAG-AFTRA, the union’s Broadcast Steering Committee, and National Executive Committee.
Eisner has created nationally recognized mentoring programs by believing that it’s important to help future broadcasters because many helped him along the way. Hal started a program Camp News over two decades ago and hundreds of aspiring news reporters and anchors have gone through the annual two-day workshop.
