Who is Gordon Ramsay?

Gordon Ramsey (Gordon James Ramsay OBE)  is a British chef, restaurateur, television personality, and author. He founded Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, his global restaurant group, was founded in 1997. It has received a total of 16 Michelin stars, with seven still remaining. Moreover, he rose to prominence in the UK after he appeared in the British television miniseries Boiling Point I 1999. As of 2004, Gordon had established himself as one of the most known and influential chefs in the country.

Gordon Ramsay Career

Gordon started his career in the mi-198s where he worked as a commis chef in Wroxton House Hotel. Ramsey ran the kitchen and 60 seat dining room at the Wickham Arms. After that, he moved to London and worked in series of restaurants until being encouraged to work for the temperamental Marco Pierre White at Harvey

Gordon was tired of “the rages, the abuse, and the aggression” at Harvey’s after two years and ten months on the job, he decided to study French cuisine to advance his career. However, Ramsay was advised by White to avoid taking a job in Paris. He was instead advised to work for Albert Roux at Le Gavroche in Mayfair, where he met Jean-Claude Breton, who would later become his maitre d’hotel at  Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.

After a year at Le Gavroche, Albert Roux invited Ramsey to join him as his number two at Hotel Diva. A ski resort in the French Alps.
