He came to international recognition as the creator of The CW fantasy drama series Supernatural (2005 to 2020) where he served as the showrunner during the first five seasons. From 2012 to 2014, he created the post-apocalyptic drama series Revolution and co-created the science fiction series Timeless (2016 to 2018).
