Eric Kripke is an American well-known writer and television producer. He came to international recognition as the creator of The CW fantasy drama series Supernatural (2005 to 2020) where he served as the showrunner during the first five seasons. From 2012 to 2014, he created the post-apocalyptic drama series Revolution and co-created the science fiction series Timeless (2016 to 2018).

He has served as showrunner of the superhero series The Boys, since 2019, which he developed for Amazon Prime Video.

The series is about Josh Jaffe, a neurotic family man who buys an online ‘smart pill’ to increase his focus and jolt him out of his slump, but to his surprise, the pill gives him super strength.

It was announced in August 2015 that Eric along with fellow writer Shawn Ryan were developing an action-adventure show, Timeless for NBC. The series is about an unlikely trio traveling through time to battle unknown criminals in order to protect history. However, it was canceled after one season, and a fan campaign was made to revive the series for a short second season which again was subsequently canceled when ratings did not improve.
