Career

Ellen began her standup comedy in early 1980 where she was performing at a small club and coffee house. In 1981 she became an emcee at Clyde’s Comedy Club in New Orleans. Her first regular role on Tv was a short-lived Fox sitcom which was called Open House. At the Juane Verde Real Estate company she played the role of Margo Van Meter who was an office worker. Producer Neal Marlens and Carol Black cast DeGeneres in their sitcom called Laure Hill in 1992. However, the show was canceled after airing four episodes.
