Who is Ed Woodward?
Ed Woodward (Edward Gareth Woodward ) is an English accountant and banker. He is also the executive vice-chairman of Manchester United F.C until the end of 2021, where he was overseeing the club’s operations.
Career
He started his career in 1993, where he was working in the accounting and tax advisory department at PricewaterhouseCoopers. After that, he joined J.P Morgans & Co as an investment banker in the merger and acquisitions department in 1993. Ed also advised Malcolm Galzer and Glazers family during the successful takeover of Manchester United in 2005.
After that, the Glazers family then recruited him for a financial planning position. Manchester United’s commercial and media activities were granted to Woodward in 2007. Woodward is credited with United’s success in securing lucrative endorsement deals with businesses all over the world while serving in this capacity.
