A High School Career
He played safety on the football team while attending Frisco High School. Initially, he committed to playing college football at SMU. During his senior year, he flipped his commitment to New Mexico following the departure of SMU head coach Chad Morris. At high school, he was rated a star recruit by ESPN and handed a 3-grade by 247Sports.
A College Career
He began his college career playing for the New Mexico Lobos in 2018. There, he transitioned to a linebacker role shortly after signing. The Nex Mexico coaching staff moved him from safety to outside linebacker. Over the course of two seasons, he played in 17 games. As a sophomore for the Lobos in 2019, he played in 5 games and took part in 253 snaps for the Lobos. In the games, he recorded 18 tackles, and 5 assists, while adding 13 stops.
Following the end of the season, he entered the NCAA transfer portal. Ultimately, he transferred to TCU. And was granted a waiver to play immediately by the NCAA. In his first season, he was moved from linebacker to defensive end playing for the Horned Frogs. In 2021, he became a starter and led the team with nine tackles for loss and tied for the team lead with four sacks. As a senior, he was named honorable mention All-Big 12 Conference. He went on and had four sacks, a forced fumble, and broke up a pass in TCU’s 51-45 win over Michigan in the 2022 Fiesta Bowl.
