Who is David Muir?

David Muir(David Jason Muir) is an American journalist and news anchor for ABC World News Tonight. He is also a co-anchor of the ABC New magazines of 20/20. David is also part of the news department of ABC News. Prior he was working as a weekend and also a primary substitute anchor on ABC’s World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer. He later succeeded Diane Sawyer on September 1, 2014. While at ABC he won two Emmy Award for his national and international journalist

Career

Muir began his career in 1994 at WTVH_TV in Syracuse, New York where he worked as an anchor and a reporter. His reporting from Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Israel, and Gaza During the 1995 assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin made him receive top honors from Radio-Television News Directo Association. The Associated Press also awarded him for The Best Enterprise Reporting and Best Television Interview. Muir was also recognized as one of the “Best Local Newscasts” by the Syracuse Press Club. Muir left WTVH television in 2000.

In 2000 he joined WCVB television in Boston as an anchor and also a reporter. At WCVB Muir won the regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Investigative and the National Headliner Award. David Joining ABC NEWS

Muir joined ABC in August 2003 as an anchor of the overnight news program World News Now. After that, he became the anchor of the ABC News’ early Morning program World News This Morning(America This Morning).  June 2007 Muir became the anchor of World News Saturday. In 2006 he was often co-anchored the newsmagazine Primetime. In 2012 he became an anchor for the World News with Muir a weekend News program.
